FOCAL AREA DIALOG OF CULTURES - 150 YEARS OF FRIENDSHIP GERMANY–JAPAN
Workshop for Specialists: German-Japanese Digital Memory
開催予定日: 2011-12-02
会場: JDZB
協力機関: Bonn University; Bürkner & Bürkner GbR

In cooperation with the University of Bonn, the JDZB will host specialists discussions to investigate how historical sources of German-Japanese relations in a contemporary digital form can be made more accessible to researchers and lay persons. Modeled after the American Memory of the Library of Congress in which historical documents (photos, treaties and agreements, speeches, diaries etc) are freely available to everyone. In Japan there is a similar, although more official, collection of government documents located in the Japan Center for Asian Historical Records (JACAR).

For the German-Japanese area Dr. Alexander Bürkner has created a similar project. Institutions such as the German National Library, ministries, museums, German-Japan associations and private individuals holding related collections shall be invited to participate in a round table discussion at the JDZB. Discussions will focus on the feasibility of such a digital memory.
Conference language will be German.
