FOCAL AREA DIALOG OF CULTURES
Seminar: Europe-Japan Relations
Date: 2012-09-27
Venue: JDZB
Cooperation: German Academic Exchange Service, Bonn; European Academy of Otzenhausen (EAO); Center for German and European Studies (DESK), Tôkyô University

Center for German and European Studies (DESK), Tōkyō University

Since 1997 the Japanese-German Center Berlin (JDZB) cooperates successfully with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). This year the cooperation will be continued in a new form, following up the seminar series with German, Japanese and Korean scholarship holders. This time, the JDZB is working not only together with the DAAD but with the Center for German and European Studies at the University of Tôkyô and the European Academy of Otzenhausen (EAO).

Twenty students of the Universities of Tôkyô and Kyûshû will therefor meet former DAAD Japan-scholarship holders and other guests in the JDZB after having completed this year’s EAO-Fall Academy on “Which Way Forward for the European Union (EU)? – An Approach to the Issues Challenging and Shaping the EU”. Lectures of external speakers will be supplemented by speeches of students and other guests. Sufficient time for discussion is on the schedule as well.

The conference will be held in English. Registration is now open. We kindly ask for your understanding that the number of participants is limited.
