No Entrance Fee

A solo exhibition by the German artist Jårg Geismar with installations indoor and outdoor at the Japanese-German Center Berlin and a Japanese Restaurant in Berlin.
The artist lived and worked the last years mainly in Tôkyô. The exhibition will show fort he first time his recent works about non-communication, communication, visual philosophy (MINAMISHIMA Hiroshi ), contemporary future (Jernej Kožar),  Querweltein (Otto Neumaier) and responsibility and sensitivity in our world today.

Short Bio
Jårg Geismar born 1958 in Burgsvik, Gotland, Sweden as son of German parents. Studies at the Staatlichen Kunstakademie Düsseldorf (Meisterschüler) and New School of  Social Research, Parsons School of Design New York(MFA).
Scholarships, grants, awards: DAAD für New York, Kunstfonds eV.; Stiftung Kunst und Kultur des Landes NRW, Düsseldorf; IASPIS, Stockholm, Schweden; Fondation Cartier, Paris, Frankreich; Artist Space Grant New York; AIAV, Yamaguchi, Japan.
Long stays in Tôkyô, New York, Düsseldorf and Gotland.

Jårg Geismar s presented by the galeries Jiri Svestka Berlin and Prague , TZR Kai Brückner, Düsseldorf and LA Lothar Albrecht Frankfurt . In Japan by the galeries HAM, Nagoya and Hashimoto, Tôkyô.
