Performance + Talk: JAPAN NEXT: Artists from Japan – in the Stream of Contemporary Art

On the occasion of the exhibition by young Japanese artists THE ECHO – ALTHOUGH I AM STILL ALIVE, the Japanese-German Center Berlin will host this talk to take place on August 23 at 6:30 pm. The exhibition will be discussed within the context of its historical beginnings as well as current social reality.

Panelists include: Katja BLOMBERG (Director Haus am Waldsee), Claudia DELANK (Director Gallery Claudia Delank), Alexander HOFMANN (Curator Museum for Asian Art), HAYASHI Kiyohide (Curator THE ECHO), TAKEMURA Kei, MURAYAMA Nobuhiko and KITO Kengo (as well as participating artists of THE ECHO).

The evening will open with a performance by KOGANEZAWA Takehito in Studio 1 at 6 pm. The exhibition Luftlinien at Haus am Waldsee in Spring of 2012 was his first institutional exhibition in Germany with an overview of his work.
