About UCHIKURA:

- After a long struggle in attempts to come into her own “originality”, Uchikura came to the conclusion that the originality she possessed was her ability to change herself for the outside world. Uchikura only makes countless bumps on the paper, and leave the light play its own fantastic spectacle. (MATSUNAGA  Kô, Art Critic)

- Wrestling with materials every day, Uchikura asks herself seriously what she should create and express to the audience. She has an uncanny ability to catch the light and to warmly embrace her audience through her work, encouraging a state of bliss. (AONO Kazuko, Curator of Hara Museum of Contemporary of Art)

- UCHIKURA Hitomi is fascinated by light. She utilizes it on glass surfaces – transparent or mirror- or on white pure paper, embossed in the shape of a cell, restoring it. It is as a real creator that she uses those two necessary elements that give off the appearance of life. (Daniel Leizorovic, Print and Book Editor, Galerie Leizorovic)
