Two years after the accident in the nuclear power station Fukushima Daiichi we welcome Prof. Dr. HATAMURA Yôtarô and Dr. FUCHIGAMI Masao to find out what lessons can be learnt from this accident and what perspectives result from it for future energy policy. Prof. Dr. HATAMURA was head of the "Investigation Committee on the Accident at the Fukushima Nuclear Power Stations of Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO)", which was initiated by the Japanese government to explore the actual circumstances of this accident, and Dr. FUCHIGAMI was technical advisor of the investigation committee.
This lecture addresses an expert audience.
About the speakers:
Prof. Dr. HATAMURA Yôtarô is professor emeritus at the University of Tōkyō and was head of the "Investigation Committee on the Accident at the Fukushima Nuclear Power Stations of Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO)" of the Japanese government from June 2011 to September 2012.
Dr. FUCHIGAMI Masao is advisor of the industrial concern Komatsu Ltd. and was technical advisor of the "Investigation Committee on the Accident at the Fukushima Nuclear Power Stations of Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO)" of the Japanese government from June 2011 to September 2012.
