The JDZB is pleased to present a group exhibition of three artists who adopt different approaches to a common theme.
Wojtek SKOWRON from Poland and the Japanese artists CHIBA Yūdai and YAMAMOTO Akihiro try to find familiar things in a foreign environment or to discover parallels to their own culture.
SKOWRON juxtaposes photographs taken in Japan in 2015 and 2016 with images from Germany that, despite their geographical and cultural remoteness, meet those from Japan in certain aspects.
YAMAMOTO documents and combines everyday objects from Japan and Germany, which are testimonies of a past civilization.
CHIBA’s sculptures use traditional craftsmanship techniques that are synthesized through Asian and concurrent Western materiality.
