The lyrical dance drama Nō, written in the 14th century, has changed and evolved in the long course of history of social change and upheaval. The presentation introduces the history and characteristics of this traditional as well as lively theatrical art, delving into pieces of the guest performance as well as expertly dealing with the reception of this Japanese musical theater form in Europe. The guest performance of the Nō Theater of Umewaka Kennōkai will take place on 3 September as part of the Music Festival in the Berlin Philharmonie.
