In spring 2016, the “German-Japanese Energy Transition Council” (GJETC) was jointly founded by ECOS Consult, the Wuppertal Institute, hennicke.consult and the Institute for Energy Economics Japan. The expert council is supported by various ministries and foundations and discusses energy and climate policy issues. It meets twice a year, commissions reports and makes recommendations to the Japanese and German governments. The JDZB organizes the meetings in Germany.
The tenth council meeting of the GJETC or alternatively a meeting of the potentially newly established Scientific Council within the framework of the German-Japanese Energy Partnership is planned for March.
