Japanese guardianship law focuses primarily on the administration of trusts. It is not explicitly stated that medical treatment and health care are covered by the law of guardianship. This leads to problems time and again in the everyday life of those affected. There is little doubt that the current guardianship law should be revised.
Against this background, experts from Germany and Japan will discuss at this symposium the reform of the Japanese Guardianship Act, the current challenges for German guardianship law and further matters related to this area.
Conference languages are German and Japanese with simultaneous translation.
