This symposium is organized on the occasion of the visit of State Minister Gernot Erler (German Federal Foreign Office) to Japan by the Japanese-German Center Berlin (JDZB) in cooperation with the German Embassy and support by Keizai Koho Center.
The aim of the symposium is to inform Japanese decision makers and an interested public about the new Central Asia policy, interests, goals and instruments of the EU in the region and to dis-cuss it. State Minister Erler will give first hand information and insights. In the discussion the stability of the region, economic and trade relations incl. energy, transformation of the political and juridical system, regional problems will be covered.
Languages of the symposium will be English and Japanese with simultaneous interpretation.
