German-Japanese Young Leaders Forum （日独ヤングリーダーズ・フォーラム）
The German-Japanese Young Leaders Forum (YLF) addresses 16 promising young professionals, eight German and eight Japanese nationals. They should be active in the fields of politics, business, science, media or administration. Participants are required to speak English fluently and should be between 25 and 35 years old.
During the ten-day program on a topic relevant to both countries, top-level speakers from politics, business, and academia give lectures and discuss with the participants. Visits to institutions and companies complement the program through first-hand insights. A workshop with alumni from previous YLFs is arranged at the end of the program. It takes place annually, alternating between Germany and Japan, and is held in English.
The YLF is organized by the Japanese-German Center Berlin (JDZB) and was funded by B. Metzler seel. Sohn & Co., NÜRNBERGER Insurance Group, the Yamaoka Memorial Foundation, Yanmar Co., Ltd. and Yuasa M&B Co., Ltd. in 2018.
