The Japanese-German Center Berlin (JDZB), the Heinrich-Böll-Stiftung and the Center for the Promotion of Disarmament and Non-Proliferation (CPDNP) at the Japan Institute for International Affairs (JIIA) started a German-Japanese security policy dialogue in March 2010 with a conference on non-proliferation policy in Tôkyô.
The organizers are determined to continue this exchange with a second workshop on "Perspectives of East-Asian Regional Security" on December 6, 2011, from 9.30 a.am until 4.30 p.m. at the JDZB.
As Germany and Japan do not have an elaborated security dialogue the regular exchange on the bilateral level is very limited. This workshop will therefore look into ways for future dialogue and possible cooperation in security, non-proliferation policy, etc. Topics will also be the current security situation in North-East Asia, ways of strengthening regional security in Asia Pacific and Europe-Japanese security affairs.
Language of the workshop is English.
